Instructions to Authors


Authors’ Regulations


1. Articles should be provided to the editorial office in an electronic (on a compact disk or by e-mail) and in printed form (1 copy). The printed copy must be signed by all the authors; besides on the top page of the printed copy we ask to specify the section the article must be published in (see "Heading of the magazine"). A file with an electronic variant must be named by the authors’ last names.


The article should be attached by the review of a specialist in this area of research (certified by seal) indicating the scientific degree, rank, place of work and position of the reviewer. . Study regulations on reviewing.




2. Paper volume not less than 2 pages A4 printed in text editor Word, font Times New Roman 10 PT. in one interval. Margins: top and bottom — 2, 5 cm, right and left — 2 cm. The text of the paper must be arranged in one column; option "section break" can only be used to create landscape pages.




3. A must-have article needs the index of the UDC (indicated on the first page).




4. The first page provides information about authors in Russian: surname, name and patronymic (in full), place of work (organization and division), position, academic degree, academic title, phone and e-mail each of the authors.




5. Important elements of the article are the abstract and keywords. An abstract (not to exceed 600 characters with spaces) should be in a condensed form, but sufficiently full to reflect the content of the article, not by repeating its name. The annotation can briefly review the structure of the article indicating the research problem, its relevance, describing the obtained results and conclusions.




Keywords are text labels, which mark the article when searching to identify the subject area of the text. They are published both in the magazine and indicated in description of the articles in the databases. When selecting a specific keyword, the reader will be able to find all the articles devoted to this subject area. Thus, the list of keywords should include all the concepts that are important for the expression of the content of the article and search for it. Selecting keywords for the article, try to define the searching queries of the article.


6. The last page provides information about the authors, annotation and keywords in English.


 7. The material should be clear, logical. The logical elements of the article should be highlighted in the headings: Introduction (~0.5 page) Conclusions (approximately 0.5 page), other elements – paragraphs and possibly sub-items (e.g., " Theoretical basis of developing of anisotropic cost surfaces", " Algorithm for constructing anisotropic accumulated cost surfaces", "Analysis of fracture properties of prototypes", " Calculation of foundation density”.


8. Graphics, figures and photographs mounted in the text after their first mention. Letters and numbers in figures should be legible, axes signed. Drawings and photographs should be submitted in black and white; they should have good contrast and resolution. Avoid thin lines in the graphs. The drawings in the form of photocopies from books and magazines, as well as badly scanned are not accepted. The name of the illustrations given under them, after the word "Fig." with the serial number. If the figure in the text is alone, the number is not assigned.


Captions are not part of the picture, and are texted under the illustration separately. If the picture introduces new indicators (not encountered in the text still) they should be explained in captions, and the elements indicated in the picture by numbers must be explained. The recommended width of the drawings is not more than 7.5 cm.




9. The word "table" with number is located on the right edge. Next line is the name of the table (center alignment, without indentation) without a dot at the end. The only table in the article is not numbered.




10. Terms, units and symbols used in the paper should be universally accepted. All authors’ notations (except for well-known constants like e, h, c, etc.) and abbreviations should be explained at their first mention in the text.




11. All formulas should be typed in Math Type; the font height of 10 PT. Explanation of formulas should be typed in the line (without using the red one). Latin symbols are typed in italic, names of functions (sin, cos, exp) and Greek letters — the regular (direct) font. Formulas are numbered in parentheses – (2).




12. References to original sources in the text are enclosed in square brackets [1]. Bibliography must be arranged after the text of the article in accordance with the requirements of GOST 7.1-2003 (see the examples of references) in alphabetical order or in order of appearance in the source text. Authors’ own works should be listed along with the works of other scientists who contributed to the study of the topic. One item in the list must contain only one source. It is not allowed to join of several reference sources in one item. When quoting from foreign publications, which are not translated into Russian, the reference should be given in the original language; it is not allowed making references in a self-made translation form.




13. The author is responsible for the scientific content of the article and guarantees the originality of the material.


By submitting the article, the author warrants that:


• he did not publish (in addition to publishing articles in the form of the Preprint) and will not publish the article in the volume more than 25 % in any other printed or electronic publications;


• article contains all the applicable copyright laws references to cited authors and publications as well as the results used in the article and facts obtained by other authors or organizations;


• the article does not contain materials that are not the subject for publication in  press, in accordance with applicable regulations.


By submitting the article, the author agrees that the magazine has the right to:


• to provide the materials of scientific articles in Russian and foreign organizations supporting indices of scientific citing;


• to make cuts and editorial changes to the text of the article.


The author also agrees that articles are not returned and the fee for published articles is not paid.


14. After graduate students are not charged for the article publication.


15. The editorials maintain contact with the authors primarily through e-mail.






on the procedure of reviewing manuscripts
submitted for publication in a scientific journal

Scientific articles submitted to the journal must be subjected to peer review.


The reviewer is appointed by the editor-in-chief or his Deputy. The reviewer of the article can be a doctor or candidate of Sciences who is the closest in his/her research interests to the issued article.


Reviewing the article has no more than two months.


The review should include a qualified analysis of the material and its objective evaluation. The reviewer makes a recommendation (positive or negative) about the possibility of publishing the article.


Rejected articles are sent to the authors with a reasoned refusal within 10 days from the date of receipt of a negative review. If the author of the article does not agree with the opinion of the reviewer, he can write a reasoned response to the review, which will be reviewed by the editorial Board of the journal. The editorial Board may return the article for further review.


The author is obliged to remedy the shortcomings of the article noticed by the reviewer and send the corrected version to the editor within one month from the date of receiving the review. The question of the completeness and adequacy of the revisions to the reviewer's comments is agreed by the members of the editorial Board or a reviewer.


Articles may be reviewed no more than twice.


Not subjected to reviewing:


•articles of academicians of the State Academies of Sciences,


• informational materials, published respectively in the section "Information materials",


• advertising materials, founder’s messages and such  according to the current legislation of the Russian Federation.


When reviewing the article to obtain an objective assessment of the material information about the authors of the article is not provided to the reviewer. The author is also unknown for the reviewer (the review is sent without indicating the name of the reviewer).


The positive review is not sufficient grounds for the publication of the article. The final decision on publication is made by the chief editor of the magazine.


The reviewers selected in accordance with the editor’s portfolio by the Editorial Board are experts in the subject matter the manuscript focuses on and have publications in the field of research within the past three years.


Reviews are stored in the publishing and editorial office for 5 years.


Editorial office forwards to the authors of submitted materials copies of reviews or reasoned rejection.
